Tech Stacks

Securing our elections is one of the tech community’s most important challenges. InfernoRed is excited to partner with Microsoft’s Defending Democracy Program to create and implement ElectionGuard – a tool to help ensure that every vote is protected and counted.

ElectionGuard is an open-source software development kit (SDK) designed to enable end-to-end verification of elections, share results with third-party organizations for secure validation, and allow voters to confirm their votes were correctly counted. The tool uses homomorphic encryption and works within current voting programs to improve the safeguard against outside influences, including hackers.

Our team of software engineers has been with ElectionGuard since its inception. In February 2020, we joined the Microsoft team in the successful implementation of the ElectionGuard voting platform during the first successful live election in Fulton, Wisconsin proving the tool can work across many platforms without interrupting voters. In December 2020, our team worked with Microsoft to enable the first successful mobile voting experience in the U.S. House of Representatives.

ElectionGuard was recently recognized as one of Fast Company’s Next Big Things in Tech.
